School fundraiser ideas are something that we have all become used to. Regardless of whether or not you’re on the selling side or the purchasing side, you know that you’re going to be hit with at least one or two fundraisers a year and it is not that unusual for people to just go ahead and plan to spend a little bit of money to help out the local school or some students that they know there. Typically fundraisers hit up everyone- friends, family, neighbors, and even total strangers.

Unfortunately, with the economy in the shape that it’s in most of the time the first place spending gets cut is funding to help “extracurricular” causes. Schools that were already in need of extra funding now find themselves even deeper in the hole, and the people that used to be able to participate in fundraisers to help out are now unable to. It may sound like a hopeless situation, but one of the qualities that has kept us a people moving on so long is the ability to adapt. Just because people are not able to spend a bit of extra money on a quasi-useless fundraiser item does not mean that they are not going to buy certain other items that they need or want. The idea is a simple one: an online store, gift shop, or other form of merchant, has connections with many merchants across the world and is able to offer quality products that consumers buy on a day to day basis. So far it sounds like a generic store, but the difference is that the charity store donates up to six percent of your purchase total to funds for charity. This is a great school fundraiser idea! If someone plans to purchase an item anyway, such as a digital camera, you can simply direct their attention to a charity store where your cause is registered. When they make their purchase they will be able to say that they want a donation made to your school fundraiser. This could be the best way to scratch up much-needed funds in a very dry time.
